Respondus LockDown Browser

Respondus LockDown Browser can help instructors maintain the academic integrity of their in-class exams. The browser helps prevent cheating by locking down access to applications or websites outside the Canvas environment. In a university pilot of the tool, instructors found Respondus easy to use, well-supported, and effective in securing online assessments.

  • Prevents copying and pasting anything to or from an assessment
  • Disables right-click menu options, function keys, and printing and screen capture functions
  • Removes browser menu and toolbar options (except for Back, Forward, Refresh, and Stop)
  • Integrates seamlessly with the Canvas learning management system

Honorlock

While in-person proctoring is the university’s preferred method for administering a high-stakes assessment, the Honorlock Live Pop-In service is available for distance learning courses and low-stakes quizzes. In addition to monitoring and recording exams, a live proctor "pops into" the exam session via webcam if a high level of unusual activity is detected.
