DesignPLUS replaces Design Tools
in January 2026.
Prepare for Spring 2026 with DesignPLUS, a course design tool that simplifies the process of building and styling a high-quality course. If you currently use Design Tools, upgrade your existing course content to ensure a smooth transition to DesignPLUS. Beginning January 1, 2026, DesignPLUS permanently replaces Design Tools. Fall workshops can help you become comfortable with using the new tool before the legacy tool expires.
Integrated as a sidebar in Canvas, the DesignPLUS tool helps instructors and course designers create professional, organized, and visually appealing courses.
- Quickly apply templates and pre-formatted content blocks to pages
- Organize content so it's easier to navigate, access, and understand
- Easily add content and upload, crop, and resize images
- Incorporate visual design principles that improve the way students perceive the value of course content
Register for Training
To get started in DesignPLUS, attend one of our hands-on, virtual workshops. Introductory sessions demonstrate how to use the QuickStart Wizard to access FSU-themed course templates and make designing Canvas pages a breeze. Advanced sessions build on your knowledge of basic DesignPLUS functions by providing a deeper dive into features such as interactive flashcards, columns, and tables.
