How to Offer Professional Education through the FSU Catalog

In addition to supporting the university’s Canvas learning management system (LMS) for academic courses, we offer and support the FSU Learn Canvas Catalog. Any FSU college or organization interested in using the FSU Learn Canvas Catalog may request their own sub-catalog to offer courses or programs for professional education. Learners interested in enhancing their professional knowledge and skills can browse the catalog, enroll in courses, and pay course enrollment fees.

1. Complete an FSU Learn Catalog request form.

Complete and submit the FSU Learn Catalog request form. Once we review your request, we will be in touch to discuss the process and provide you with a letter of agreement.

2. Sign the FSU Learn Catalog letter of agreement.

When you receive the letter of agreement (LOA), review it and the Style Guidelines addendum carefully, then sign. We will forward it for additional signatures and notify you when all signatures are complete. Our design team will then set up your custom sub-catalog within the FSU Learn parent catalog.

3. Set up payment processing through the FSU Controller’s Office.

Schedule an appointment with the Controller’s Office to ensure you are set up and authorized to collect course enrollment payments through the FSU Learn Canvas Catalog.

4. Attend required FSU Learn Canvas Catalog training.

To be granted administrative access to the FSU Learn Canvas Catalog, you and any additional designated users are required to attend training on using the catalog to create course and program listings in compliance with the FSU Learn Catalog Style Guidelines outlined in your LOA. Once training is complete, we will provide all trained, designated users with subaccount admin access to your catalog as well as access to the FSU Learn Canvas LMS where you will develop and deliver your courses.

5. Create courses in FSU Learn Canvas LMS.

As soon as the LOA has been executed, you will be added as an authorized user in the FSU Learn Canvas LMS where you can begin developing courses. If you are new to working in the Canvas LMS, we will provide training on request.

When you have completed the required FSU Learn Canvas Catalog training, you and your designees will be provided sub-account admin access to manage your course and program listings. You will be able to create program and course listings based on courses you have developed in the FSU Learn Canvas LMS. You will also be able to set enrollment fees for each listing.
