John has provided training and outreach support in instructional technologies to the FSU community for over 25 years. He consults with faculty to maximize the use of instructional tools in their course delivery while helping them align their course design with the Quality Matters rubric. He assists colleges and departments in identifying the support technologies needed to launch online degree programs.
When FSU introduced its first learning management system, Blackboard, in 1998, John served as a trainer. He was instrumental in developing some of the first online courses for the university. During the transition from Blackboard to Canvas, John led the campus-wide outreach and training with an emphasis on templates, quality, accessibility, and universal design. He coordinates our on-campus workshops and provides training on Canvas, media technologies, and other instructional tools. He received his bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Florida and his master’s degree in Political Science from Troy University.
