ODL is responsible for managing over 100 distance learning designated accounts. If you're offering an online program that collects a distance learning fee, we'll help you manage your distance learning account expenditures and process appointments for online instructors and mentors.
ODL's fiscal team tracks and manages expenditures related to your designated account. Budget expenditure requests, travel authorization, and dual compensation requests can all be downloaded from the QuickLinks menu on this page and submitted to email@example.com for processing. Because designated accounts are funded by the distance learning fee, only costs directly attributable to developing and delivering online courses are considered allowable expenses per Florida Statute.
Budget snapshots for designated accounts are an easy way to view income and expenses. Departments can view budget snapshots within the Distance Learning (DL) Appointment System. Snapshots are updated monthly and include the following:
- Revenue per term
- Expenditures for the current fiscal year
- Available balance
Once a designated account is approved by the Budget Office, our fiscal and HR teams review and process instructor and mentor appointments associated with your account. To ensure funds are available for appointments, submit required information and approvals via the DL Appointment System by the posted deadline (deadlines are communicated via email each term). To request access to the system or change contact information, email firstname.lastname@example.org. We are happy to assist you as well as answer any questions you may have.
